FAQ

What is My Snuffle Mats Made From?

Our snuffle mats are made with materials chosen with one priority in mind: what your dog comes into contact with matters.

We use undyed, non-toxic fabrics, including organic cotton and a durable hemp-cotton blend. With no unnecessary dyes or harsh chemical finishes, these natural fibres offer a simple, gentle surface for dogs to sniff, lick, paw, and interact with.

We believe in making thoughtful choices rather than claiming perfection. There’s no such thing as a completely impact-free product. For areas that need extra strength and longevity, we use a small amount of plastic thread and trims to reinforce the construction and help prevent premature wear, damage, and waste. Because sometimes the more sustainable choice is making something that lasts.

Every material has a purpose: natural fibres where your dog interacts most, and carefully considered reinforcement where durability matters. The result is a snuffle mat designed to be non-toxic, durable, and made to be loved for a long time.

How Do I Care for My Snuffle Mat?

We believe in taking care of the things we love—and that includes your snuffle mat. With a little extra TLC, you can keep your mat fresh, functional, and ready for many more rounds of sniffing and foraging.

Keep it cool: Our snuffle mats are machine washable, but we recommend washing them in cold water on a gentle cycle to help protect the natural fibres and keep the mat looking and feeling its best. For an extra gentle clean, pop it in a delicates bag and use a mild, non-toxic detergent.

Skip the dryer: For a longer-lasting snuffle mat, we recommend line drying or air drying rather than using a tumble dryer. Gently press out excess water, reshape the mat, and hang it up or lay it flat to dry completely. Air drying is gentler on the fibres, helps maintain the mat’s shape, and uses less energy too.

A little care goes a long way: Snuffle mats are made to be sniffed, pawed, licked, and loved. Treat yours gently between adventures, and it’ll be ready for plenty more enrichment sessions to come.

Is There Anything I Should Look Out for When My Dog Uses a Snuffle Mat?

Like all dog toys and enrichment products, our snuffle mats are designed to be used with supervision. Every dog interacts with toys differently, so please keep an eye on your dog while they sniff, forage, lick, and play.

We recommend checking your mat regularly for signs of wear, loose threads, or damaged parts. If anything becomes loose or damaged, remove the mat from your dog and repair or replace it as needed.

Our snuffle mats are made for enrichment—not chewing. If your dog is a persistent chewer or tries to pull apart and swallow pieces of the mat, discontinue use.

A little supervision goes a long way. You know your dog best, so please choose the level of supervision that’s right for them and always supervise during use.
